We are officially in autumn now that September is here…Right?

By lisawato / September 1, 2021 /

Personally I love autumn

the leaves turning, the brisk mornings and warm sunny days at this time of year. Of course, this is an ideal version of the marvellously problematic British weather which like many Mancunians I can be ever so slightly obsessive about (the weather&Manchester!) However, quilts and blankets come into their own in autumn and as well as brightening up a room with a colour pop of colour on the back of the sofa, or as a eye catching runner at the end of a bed, now you can start using them too!

Quilts, cushions & more for your home!

With cosy autumnal days cuddling up in a quilt or blanket in mind, it’s exciting to be at GNCCF again at the atmospheric Victoria Baths in Manchester from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th October. AND I’m really looking forward to being back again at Altrincham Market on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October. I hope to see you at an makers fair soon x

A Cornucopia of Quilts

By lisawato / August 2, 2021 /

A cornucopia of quilts were to be found at The Festival of Quilts 2021 last week.

Quilters from around the world descend on the NEC in Birmingham this time every year (but not last year!) to display their awesome quilts, network and celebrate all things quilts.  FoQ is just the tonic of colour, pattern and textures to inspire and motivate. Some quilts delight, some are more challenging, or thought provoking, all are beautifully executed in stitch and cloth. This year I noticed lots of bold joyous designs and numerous quilts highlighting global issues, particularly with reference to the last 18 months… Here are a few of my quilt highlights;

Apologies for not including all the exhibitors details with these images, as I always am drawn to the visuals. Find more quilts details on Festival of Quilts & The Quilter’s Guild websites.

Enjoy your week, whatever the Great British summer weather x

Thanks to @lisawatso for the most fabulous quilt ever. Isn’t it gorgeous!!! And in my favourite colour…Green!
@CMBoggianno – June 9

I bought Lisa’s ‘sunshine yellow velvet and subtle blues, browns and greys Harris Tweed, quilt. Just love the fabrics, colour combinations and the workmanship is superb.

Oh my, my, my! Lisa, what a beautiful thing you create! They are heavenly beautiful! Simply, I am glad I came across your work and brought them!!!

I am so pleased with my beautiful quilt. The colours are lovely and they tone in really well with our bedroom colours.

Lisa is very proud of her quilts and justifiably so. I have never seen any like them, photos do not do them justice.
