If you are curious as to how to learn about Patchwork & Quilting, I am pleased to be running a can do taster Patchwork & Quilting workshop at Altrincham Open Studios on Sunday 8th September from 10-4pm, priced £55. Click here to book.

I’m super excited to be hosting a taster patchwork & quilting workshop on Sunday 8th September from 10am to 4pm at Altrincham Open Studios
In this taster Patchwork & Quilting workshop Lisa Watson (that’s me!) will introduce you to hand stitched patchwork & quilting techniques and throughout the day talk through how you can develop your P&Q further at home, by hand, or on a sewing machine.
Takeaways from this days workshop are a hand-stitched patchwork pin cushion and a suffolk puff brooch. Lots of useful hand outs are provided, as well as all the materials. However, if you are a sewer, please do bring your sewing kit and fabrics with you to use for a truly personalised approach.
Bring a packed lunch for an half an hour break at midday. Tea and coffee and cake will be provided throughout the day.
Only 6 people max for this workshop, so book your place early.
Read MoreA cornucopia of quilts were to be found at The Festival of Quilts 2019 last week.
Quilters from around the world descend on the NEC in Birmingham this time every year to display their awesome quilts, network and celebrate all things quilts. I visited on the opening day and it is just the tonic of colour, pattern and textures to inspire and motivate. Some quilts delight, some are more challenging, or thought provoking, all are beautifully executed in stitch and cloth. Here are my quilt highlights;
Apologies for not including all the exhibitors details with these images, as I always am drawn to the visuals. Find more quilts details on Festival of Quilts & The Quilter’s Guild websites.
Enjoy your week, whatever the Great British summer weather x
