Personally I love autumn
the leaves turning, the brisk mornings and warm sunny days at this time of year. Of course, this is an ideal version of the marvellously problematic British weather which like many Mancunians I can be ever so slightly obsessive about (the weather&Manchester!) However, quilts and blankets come into their own in autumn and as well as brightening up a room with a colour pop of colour on the back of the sofa, or as a eye catching runner at the end of a bed, now you can start using them too!
With cosy autumnal days cuddling up in a quilt or blanket in mind, it’s exciting to be at GNCCF again at the atmospheric Victoria Baths in Manchester from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th October. AND I’m really looking forward to being back again at Altrincham Market on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October. I hope to see you at an makers fair soon xRead More

A cornucopia of quilts were to be found at The Festival of Quilts 2021 last week.
Quilters from around the world descend on the NEC in Birmingham this time every year (but not last year!) to display their awesome quilts, network and celebrate all things quilts. FoQ is just the tonic of colour, pattern and textures to inspire and motivate. Some quilts delight, some are more challenging, or thought provoking, all are beautifully executed in stitch and cloth. This year I noticed lots of bold joyous designs and numerous quilts highlighting global issues, particularly with reference to the last 18 months… Here are a few of my quilt highlights;
