Hard to believe this time last year I was still busy enjoying traversing the country attending festive fairs…
The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair online, took place a couple of weekends ago. However, you can still browse and shop via this link. With over 150 exhibitors to buy from, (including me!) it was/is a perfect opportunity to get all your Christmas shopping completed in one magical online marketplace. Not only will you be buying something special for your loved ones, but you’ll also be helping to support makers during the pandemic.
I’m also really looking forward to being back at Alty Mkt (with real people!) again this Sunday 6th December for my last festive fair this year, so if you are in the locality do come and say hi
Enjoy your week, keep warm, take care & onward xRead More

Whose the biggest star for modelling my gorgeous British made Harris Tweed and velvet patchwork quilts?
Don’t make me make a decision on this…
Sadly, neither Rufus or Rosa are included with my quilts…BUT my quilts& are an extra special gift for a loved one (or yourself) and without mentioning the C word specifically….the festivities are creeping up on us and before you know it…just saying…xRead More
Is your heating on now? Mine is! I’m notoriously nesh which goes right against my celtic roots, but might explain one of the reasons for my passion for authentic British textiles. If any excuse were needed to wrap up warm in a sumptuous Harris Tweed Quilt now the chilly mornings & cold nights are here, now is the time you can truly indulge in some delicious cosy cosseting at home.
I have three beautiful & bright Harris Tweed Quilts currently in stock and these are now being offered at the best price of £290. So treat yourself or a loved one while stocks allow.

Due to COVID-19 we are unable to host a physical event on the scale that has previously proved successful at the Dovecot Studios in central Edinburgh. This year it’s more important than ever to celebrate and support our vibrant community of textile makers and designers from around the world, so with this in mind we would like to present to you 50+ fantastic makers from around the world with links to their selling sites.
Participating makers have all agreed that 15% of all online sales from CLOTH#20 will go to Dovecot, a registered charity who are a vital resource in the landscape of creativity – specifically tapestry making – both nationally and internationally, so for track and tracing purposes please quote ‘CLOTH20’ in all communication with the makers you wish to purchase from. Thank you and enjoy!
How it works:
1. Explore our curated list of some of the most exciting makers here.
2. Click on the button in each entry to head straight to their online stores.
3. When you make an order please quote ‘CLOTH20’ at checkout, in their comments box or when contacting the maker to let them know that we sent you.
I’m pleased to be exhibiting with over 160 selected designer-makers from across the UK with the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fairs new online fair – GNCCFonline : 25-31 July 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many artists have found themselves without work, teaching, technical support and gallery work. Exhibitions and sales have disappeared. In an attempt to help alleviate some of this stress artist Matthew Burrows has instigated the ARTIST SUPPORT PLEDGE #artistsupportpledge
The concept is a simple one. Artists post images of their work, on Instagram what they are willing to sell for no more than £200 each (not including shipping). Anyone can buy the work. Every time an artist reaches £1000 of sales, they pledge to spend £200 on another artist/s work. This spirit of mutual support and generosity is enabling artists to maintain a vital income stream at a time when most sales channels have disappeared overnight.
To make a pledge, post your work with the #artistsupportpledge and follow the # to see everyone else’s work. Keep updated on new opportunities and announcements @artistsupportpledge Repost and tell your friends, colleagues and collectors. Let generosity be infectious.

Happy Chinese New Year!
One of the many things I enjoy about Manchester is that it is great at embracing its diverse population and this weekend there are celebrations for Chinese New Year 2020. I will enjoy the buzz in China Town on Sunday, and make the most of the delicious food on offer, but I’m not so keen on big crowds, so my top tip for watching the amazing dragon dance without the melee, is to drop into Manchester Art Gallery for the best view on Princess Street.
2020 is the Chinese zodiac Year of the Rat
What Chinese zodiac sign are YOU?
Thanks to @lisawatso for the most fabulous quilt ever. Isn’t it gorgeous!!! And in my favourite colour…Green!
