A Cornucopia of Quilts
WOW Just been inspired, and then some by the array and skill of quilts on display at The Festival of Quilts
Happenstance* a meeting&catchup with Maria Thomas, who back in the day I studied embroidery with, reminded me why I am so passionate about quilts…not only can you have fun playing with colour, textures and pattern, to create diverse and imaginative designs, the cloth has a magical quality which when stitched together can tell a story, be it poignant histories to political comment. A quilt can be a cherished heirloom, a contemporary talking point or a fabulous artwork and best of all A quilt will warm your body and comfort your soul.
Lots more inspirational quilt pics on my Pinterest page
*Such serendipity as I have just read Happenstance by Carol Shields which is a celebration of a relationship (& quilts).
